Review for Fort Bend Family Promise, Missouri City, TX, USA
As with a lot of non-profits. ... looks good on paper right? But in person it's a different story behind closed doors. We sat in that day center all day without air, sweating and hot while the staff were air conditioned. They pretend to offer you help when you request help and do an application but then do nothing when you're in. Ask for help with store, "we don't do that here" me and two other families lost our storage. Find a place to stay and need help with moving in and we're told they can give us a loan to pay back starting the following week. We were denied tissue and told to buy our own. Wouldn't use supplies to wash clothing, had to find a way to buy it. The food and cloths people donated the staff and volunteers took for themselves. And a family was even put out because they needed help with bills and forced to accept a "loan" from them and couldn't pay it back in full when they asked them too two weeks later. If we are homeless, why are we being made to give you money or get out? They made us drive our own vehicles to the churches, didn't want to assist with gas cards, and those who didn't have a vehicle had to beg other families for a ride, walk, or call a taxi. The website makes this place sound so good, happy smiles and all but in person it's one big flop. Sa this place is supposed to be advocates of help but robbing people of their dignity, little respect left, and the little funds you tell us to save and then take.
