I've worked with them for about a year. Great organization, helpful, but what I got most was they really care about those families especially the kids. I would volunteer anytime

Active with Fort Bend Family Promise serving first as a volunteer and currently a board member as well. What I enjoy most is seeing homeless families get back on their feet with the program that Family Promise provides. It is not a hands out but hands up. I have spent many nights over the years sleeping in church while hosting families over night at my host church. Family Promise was able to set up a second site in Rosenberg that has allowed it to double the number of families it able to support. Covid-19 impacted our ability to host families overnight in our support congregations but were able to utilize hotel space as funding allowed. Family Promise is worthy to be top rated.

This organization leads with its heart. Their goal, to get homeless families into homes, sends ripples of love, throughout our world. Children who have a home feel more secure and impowered to reach out and make a positive difference. Surely these children are mankind's hope for a better world.
It has been my great pleasure to spend time with many of the families in the Family Promise program, who are encouraged and enabled to grow confidently towards being their best selves. Family Promise gives me hope that when people help people - together we will make the world a better place: family by family, child by child - day by day.

This non-profit is unique in that it far exceeds the level of providing assistance to homeless families in Ft. Bend Co. Since its inception I have been in involved as a local church volunteer with Family Promise as overnight host and providing meals for 17 yrs. Ft. Bend FP not only begins the processing of each of family but exceeds the level of service by meeting all needs of the families. Upon "graduation" from the program the families are followed via personal contact communication with FP staff for 2 yrs. There are so many opportunities for adults, youth and children to experience socialization with basketball team and art classes within this program. This gives adults and youth support as families, who have "graduated" from the program, share time and experiences with families currently in the program.

I became FP Board member in February of this year. It gives me the opportunity to understand and participate in furthering the purpose of providing service to homeless families in Ft. Bend Co. Utilizing what I bring personally to the board and then to actively be involved in the program to assist homeless families to become self-sufficient.

We have been most impressed by the FBFP organization as a whole. They work tirelessly on behalf of their families and really seem to enjoy it. It appears they always have something in progress to further and fulfill the needs of the homeless where the children don't notice that they are homeless and parents are able to concentrate on the work at hand that will lead them back to sustainable independence. Our church appreciates that they are available when we reach out to get answers in an attempt to assist them.

Family Promise is the only non-profit in our County to offer safe harbor to families facing temporary homelessness, and keeping the family unit together. Also the coaching and counseling to help the parents find affordable housing quickly, and keep the children involved in Youth Empowerment Programs is a life-changing program. Our partner congregations love this ministry!

Families facing homelessness can turn to Fort Bend Family Promise for help. There is a very real need for Family Promise in Fort Bend County. Providing food and shelter to such families, encouraging and training them for a more stable future, and providing food and shelter all have a significant effect on the lives of these families.

I have been volunteer with Fort Bend Family Promise through my church for more than 16 years and have served on their board of directors for more than 3 years. We have helped thousands of homeless families return to self-sufficiency after being involved in the program.
The staff and volunteers are dedicated to the mission of the organization.

Fort Bend Family Promise is keeping families together! I volunteer for this program and enjoy getting to know the families, praying with them, sharing meals and helping out in any way possible. When families find themselves out of housing options, Family Promise it there. A beautiful example of sharing the love of Christ! God Bless Family Promise!

I don’t know where to begin because the experience my children & I had was truly a GOD thing. Prior to making the initial phone call, I felt humiliated & less than a mother; I was at rock bottom, homeless w/ 3 young children.

Family, Friends, and other agencies spewed what seemed like an never-ending spiral of “No’s”, but FBFP was my beckon of light, they were my lighthouse. I felt encouraged, confident, & supported throughout the intake process and it didn’t stop there. The churches & volunteers they affiliated with were kind-spirited & shared their hearts of GOD without judgment. During what could have been a time of hopelessness & despair, we were uplifted & empowered; it’s an experience I’ll never forget

The Executive Director uses dishonest tactics, bullying, and controlling behavior towards individuals who are homeless and in need. She dismissed my 8 year old daughter and I from the program for refusing to sign a family warning that I did not agree with. I was late for the 1st time after getting off work late. She is a fast talker and will say anything to discredit the truth. Now we are back sleeping in our car. I have heard of her loaning money to guest and putting it down on paper as a gift and when they pay back she pockets the money.

As with a lot of non-profits. ... looks good on paper right? But in person it's a different story behind closed doors. We sat in that day center all day without air, sweating and hot while the staff were air conditioned. They pretend to offer you help when you request help and do an application but then do nothing when you're in. Ask for help with store, "we don't do that here" me and two other families lost our storage. Find a place to stay and need help with moving in and we're told they can give us a loan to pay back starting the following week. We were denied tissue and told to buy our own. Wouldn't use supplies to wash clothing, had to find a way to buy it. The food and cloths people donated the staff and volunteers took for themselves. And a family was even put out because they needed help with bills and forced to accept a "loan" from them and couldn't pay it back in full when they asked them too two weeks later. If we are homeless, why are we being made to give you money or get out? They made us drive our own vehicles to the churches, didn't want to assist with gas cards, and those who didn't have a vehicle had to beg other families for a ride, walk, or call a taxi. The website makes this place sound so good, happy smiles and all but in person it's one big flop. Sa this place is supposed to be advocates of help but robbing people of their dignity, little respect left, and the little funds you tell us to save and then take.
