Review for Assistance League® of the Eastside, Redmond, WA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

Flexibility has been a key in the past year(s). Assistance League of the Eastside volunteer members have demonstrated commitment to continuing to meet needs in the community by adapting to changes in deliveries and to fundraising efforts.

I am proud to be a 12 year member of this all volunteer organization. We are able to address needs through our programs: Operation School Bell®, Assault Survivor Kits®, Help 4 Homeless, and Starting Over Support. During this time of social distancing / Covid, flexibility was needed in raising funds and delivering help. Bravo for working on both !

It may seem as if the Eastside community is affluent, but the need continues to be great and is increasing. As both a (retired) teacher and volunteer, I have seen students' self-esteem and academic success boosted from wearing new clothes they were able to select at shopping events through Assistance League of the Eastside's signature program, Operation School Bell®. From helping dispense hope to students, women experiencing homelessness, those fleeing domestic violence, and survivors of abuse, this all volunteer organization is really creating a difference in our community.

As we prepare to clothe 4000 school children, I'm thinking back on the commitment to build this Assistance League of the Eastside program, Operation School Bell. Years of vision, hard work, fun along the way, and appreciation from so many families!
