Review for Hero To Hero, Seattle, WA, USA
I started out supporting the Hero to Hero program when my (now ex) husband deployed from Ft. Lewis. I later joined on as a volunteer for the program and joined the core team as a volunteer. I held that position until my move to CA made it difficult to participate. This is the best non profit program for troops support that I know of. From home town support to international support this program is there for our troops.(What other program actually drives all over the US and Canada to spread the word about their program?) If its the shirt of the back of a Hero to a deployed Hero, Starbucks Coffee, or even silly glasses for the troops (from Red Robbin) I don't know of any other program that goes as far as Herotohero.US to show its troops how many people support them.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
Receiving messages from deployed troops as well as photos with thier smiles after they get packages we sent. Its the best feeling in the world.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
Knowing that our troops don't always know that there are LOTS of people who support them, its great to show them with a little piece of home and sometimes a personal visit after their return.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
The volunteers and staff are amazing. You will never meet anyone else like them.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
Send so many more packages to the troops.
Ways to make it better...
I lived closer or had more free time to volunteer.
In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...
Funding. So much of what they do is volunteer only. It takes a LOT of time to make these things happen.
One thing I'd also say is that...
I am proud to have been part of the core team from early on and would jump right back in with both feet if I were able.
How frequently have you been involved with the organization?
