Review for Electric Theatre Company, Scranton, PA, USA
Electric Theatre Company (ETC) is a gem. Their productions are top notch. ETC has some very creative people in the company and they do everything from commedia to world premieres. They run 7-8 shows per season. Their outreach to the community and in particular to students is commendable. ETC runs a conservatory for actors and offers an intensive study abroad program in Italy during the summer - participants study commedia and Italian and at the end of 3 weeks perform in Italian in front of an Italian audience.
Last season ETC started Out on a Limb, a series for company members to try things they've always wanted to do, to go, well, out on a limb. In addition ETC brought Zip Zap Zop to life, a program that brings at risk high school students together with students from the general population in classes and productions. Both have been great successes.
Finally, there's the commitment, the passion and the dedication of the company and staff and board at ETC. They are some of the warmest, most caring people, and that comes through to their work on and behind stage.
