Serving as a mentor for KOH is probably the greatest service I have provided to my country that has included a 22 year career in the US military. To be able to give something back to the families that have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country is the least I can do. The mentors I served with in KOH are some of the finest individuals I have ever met, 100% volunteers of their time and resources to a program they all believe in. This year I had the pleasure of watching numerous campers exceed personal goals that they had set for themselves by overcoming their fears with the encouragement of mentors and a new belief in their own abilities.
