Review for 4 Paws Pet Rescue, Vacaville, CA, USA
This organization has "stolen" a dog from another rescue. There was a little stray chi hua hua who had been hit by a car in Vallejo, CA AND who was pregnant. A local rescue came to her aid at 5:00am in the morning, when no one else would help her. They took her to emergency and paid over $1000 in vet bills. 4 Paws (now chi hua rescue and rehab) said they would be an emergency foster home, but then they refused to return her, they did not show up for the follow up vet appts, and now no one knows what happened to the Mom OR the puppies! No one has ever seen her again! This was un-ethical and in appropriate to take advantage of a rescue who spent alot of $ to save her life. 4 Paws should at the very least re-imburse the other group AND provide a welfare check on the dogs.....!!!

Review for Kimie's Kritters Pet Rescue, Rescue, CA, USA
This "group" is not a "no_kill" organization......they were personally responsible for illegally killing a very meek and mild senior pitbull named "BEAU" .....he was approx 15 years old and wouldn't hurt a fly! They removed him from his home which was a kennel in Petaluma, CA by pretending they wanted to foster him, instead the following morning, less then 24 hours later he was secretly and illegally euthanized without telling the owners, or anyone else! This was all on the "down low". I knew Beau personally, and this was very heartbreaking for everyone that cared about or loved this dog! And these "rescuer's" had absolutely no right to do this! They didn't even have the common decency to return his remains to the family!.....unfortunately nothing we say or do can bring Beau back! But in his memory, I would like the world to know what happened that sad and tragic day.....! RIP Beau.....you are missed!
Paul Sarasota does not exist. He/she is affiliated with a rescue that neglected animals and many rescues, including Kimie's Kritters, cleaned up their mess. This person is using this identity to defame the other rescues who saved the dogs' lives. We saved the last 5 dogs in addition to Beau who belonged to the kennel owner. He was left outside in 19 degree weather with no body fat and would also get sprayed by the hose, which caused him to become hypothermic. The owner admitted that Beau was suffering from kidney failure for over a year without seeing a vet because they did not drive. They made the decision to surrender him to Kimie's Kritters Pet Rescue and he was immediately seen by our Veterinarian. We (the vet and rescue) did everything we could to save his life but he was too sick. He was not only suffering from kidney failure, but he also had cancer and was suffering immensely. We spent over $1,500 on diagnostics and treatment for him, but we got to him too late.
Review for Traude And Michael Buckland Foundation For Animals, Berkeley, CA, USA
I believe the title is a little mis-leading.....it should be Foundation for Cats.....I don't believe they help any other species.....!
Review for Rotts Of Friends, Woodland, CA, USA
I am submitting a review as I don't think the Public and Rescue community are aware that the President of Rotts of Friends is also a BREEDER? She sells dogs and puppies for lots of $$$ under YOLO CANINE ACADEMY in Woodland, CA (www.yolocanineacademy.com) and they aren't SPAYED OR NEUTURED! I find this disturbing and a conflict of interest as one of the main responsibilities of a rescue is to help reduce the rampant pet overpopulation.
On their website it states they wish to discourage "IRRESPONSIBLE BREEDING"? Well, there IS no responsible breeding! Did you know that 25% of all animals surrendered to the shelters are Pure Breds? Does she wonder how many of her breeding off-spring have ended up at the crowded shelters? ALL breeders, if they are so-called "responsible breeders", puppy mills, or your neighbors next door contribute to the overwhelming pet overpopulation. Here's some statistics:
In 6 years one unspayed female dog and her offspring, can reproduce 67,000 dogs, and a male animal can literally father thousands in his lifetime. Source: Spay USA
An estimated 6 to 8 million dogs and cats are euthanized in shelters each year. Millions more are abandoned, only to suffer from illness or injury before dying. Source: Doris Day Animal League
Bob Barker always said to get your pets spayed or neutered at the end of the Price is Right! There’s a reason for that: RAMPANT OVERPOPULATION. Each year in the United States alone, three to four million dogs are put down in shelters because they have no one to adopt them.
IT'S UNHEALTHY: Mammary cancer is relatively widespread in unspayed female dogs, the ASPCA notes. However, this cancer is much less common in pooches spayed before attaining physical maturity. Spayed dogs also have zero chance of experiencing uterine or ovarian cancer. On top of individual medical conditions, leaving female dogs unspayed allows them to breed, contributing to canine overpopulation issues.
They claim to have rescued approx 1300 dogs? ....well, that's a drop in the bucket compared to the hundreds or thousands of dogs that have been brought into the world from Renee's Breeding Business, based on the statistics as a breeder . Evidently this has been going on for a long time....
A woman had a complaint back in 2010. She saw a dog for adoption online at Kiji.com (Ebay) for $400 and when she stopped by the Rescue she was told the dog wasn't available ...but Renee told her about a litter of purebred German Shepherd puppies she was SELLING. The customer had come along way and had her heart set on a dog so against her better judgement she bought a female puppy! Unfortunately she ended up paying $800, the puppy only had one one round of shots and one de-worming, wasn't spayed (she had to pay to have her spayed on her own) .....AND she never got any official "papers" which breeders are supposed to provide.....this sounds a bit "scammy" to me!
It's been rumored Renee has had as many as 100 dogs living on her property in Woodland. Many are in an old barn with no electricity or water. Maybe if she stopped "breeding" and selling dogs she might be able to get more rescue dogs ADOPTED !! Breeder or rescuer ...Never the twain shall meet!
