Review for Partners International Foundation, Yorktown, VA, USA
In addition to its humanitarian projects and interventions PIF also has a technology component to its mission. This technology component involves harnessing open source software applications to provide a variety of services to the non-profit community. These services currently include public and private discussion forums, video-conferencing, and secure instant messaging. Future developments will include geo-location and information services and distance learning applications. Much of this work is done in conjunction with PIF's partner organization, the Center For Applied Innovation.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
the dedication, commitment, and resourcefulness of those I have worked with.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
build Internet based tools and services for the non-profit community: ** Personnel tracking using cellular-based GPS (included emergency notification). ** Customized Google map applications. ** Distance learning applications for first-responders.
