Review for Shakespeare & Company, Inc., Lenox, MA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

My husband and I try to get to the Shakespeare & CO. productions at least a couple of times, if not more, every summer. (We live about an hour's drive from Lenox.) We have thoroughly enjoyed each play we've seen there, including the productions of non-Shakespeare plays such as the brilliantly performed "The Actors Rehearse the Story of Charlotte Salomon" and the very funny family performances given in the Rose Footprint Theater every summer. The level of professionalism, fine acting skills and creativity of the company are top notch. In addition to our own enjoyment, our son and his family, who live in Lenox, have taken advantage of the wonderful children's programming at Shakespeare & Co.: our 8-yr.old granddaughter has participated in the week-long "Riotous Youth"summer camp for kids, where she performed in Romeo and Juliet (as done by 8-12 year olds!) and other Shakespeare plays. We greatly enjoyed the kids' performances but more than that, we were very impressed with how much Shakespeare our granddaughter learned, and how much she loved it. Shakespeare & Co. is a treasure and we have donated what we are able to afford to keep it going! We look forward seeing more terrific productions this coming summer.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

performances, and indirectly in its educational program (via my granddaughter's participation in that.)

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Complete the building of the Rose Theater; put on more productions; expand its educational and training programs; form a major touring company; offer low-cost or free tickets to low-income families; keep going indefinitely!!!

How frequently have you been involved with the organization?

About once a year

When was your last experience with this nonprofit?
