Review for Pro Mujer, Inc., New York, NY, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I have been a donor for over 10 years. I have seen the effectiveness of microfinancing and the professionalism of this organization. An excellent way of fighting poverty in these countries is to empower the people to create their own businesses.

Review for National Music Theatre Network Inc, Wantagh, NY, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I discovered the NY Musical Play Festival (NYMF) three years ago. I saw 4 or 5 shows and was surprised at their professionalism and overall quality. Two years ago I looked forward to the festival and purchased a package of tickets and saw 12 shows. The quality again was incredible. The stars that were involved in various productions were previous Tony winners and nominees. I was actually lucky enough to see in the audience one Saturday afternoon, Celeste Holme, the original Ado Annie in Oklahoma, sitting in the front row watching a rather more racey version of that story. One weekend that year I saw one show on Friday night and three on the Saturday and Sunday. Heading to the theater for my seventh show at 8 PM on Sunday, I wondered if a seventh show would be such an overload that I was just wating my time. I enjoyed that late Sunday night show if not more at least as much as the previous six. A true testament to the quality of this festival. Last year I became a Patron which entitled me to 30 tickets. I am happy to say that I was able to see 18 shows and recommended a number of them to my friends who also have become converts. NYMF is an incredible festival, full of talented writers (book, composer, lyricists); scenery in many of the shows is top notch and actors are Tony winning caliber. The running of the festival is professional and considering the magnitude of the undertaking is phenomenal.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

the last three years and have seen as many shows as time permitted.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

attempt to find theaters that may be a bit more comfortable and/or larger.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

the professionalism of the performances.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

helpful, courteous and knowledgeable

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

produce more shows that would run longer in some theaters that might be a bit more comfortable

Ways to make it better...

I had more time to see more shows. Some theaters are a bit small.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

the costs of presenting such quality and still breaking even

How frequently have you been involved with the organization?

About once a year

When was your last experience with this nonprofit?

2009

Role:  Donor & I went to multiple performances.
