Review for ACCION LATINA, San Francisco, CA, USA
This newspaper has been a source of current and historic information about my neightborhood and the Latino artistic, social and political climate. One of the best things about the paper is the community it creates. Volunteers and staffers become family while working together on mutual interests and goals. The paper creates and aura of impowerment and promotes fun and faith in others! I am not currently a volunteer because I just finished school (again). I have been associated with the paper since I was about 18 years old. I am now 52!!

my confidence to look at community issues critically and think it possible to work with others to take action and address the powers that be. Also, the ability to use the arts-- music, dnace, poster art, creative writing-- to inspire and gather people.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
Give it even bigger office space to allow them to share it with even more community groups!

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
Wow! Ten mill?? Uh, well, they could buty a big building and more computers and digitalize their records, hire folks to work with volunteers and youth for starters! They wouldn't have to use their volunteers as fundraisers as much. They could just create!

Funding to do more on-going programs, research, documenting, storage/archiving.

There store front and newspaper and events are a source of pride and stability in the neightborhood.
