I've heard that Tarrant County has more non-profit organizations per capita than any other county in America. It's hard to verify that claim, but it would be even more difficult to argue with it. Tarrant County has a number of communities and organizations where giving unselfishly is simply expected and respected. And for as many of these organizations that I have been involved with, none of them compare to the amazing efforts The Women's Center puts in day in and day out. Aside from the noble mission of "Inspiring, teaching and empowering women and families to overcome violence, crisis and poverty," the organization is run with such a careful, considerate and professional approach that many Fortune 500 companies would be envious. What really sets The Women's Center apart though is their genuine compassion and dedication to the cause. This group performs amazing work for the community I am blessed to be a part of, and they are the benchmark for any organization with a similar mission around the country.
