As one of the very few reviewers who actually goes to this place for help... They've been amazing.
I went through trauma that I thought I could just ignore, and hopefully everything would right itself. It did not. It got worse and worse until I was at my wits end and had a complete meltdown. I called TWC and they got me in extremely fast, despite being told that there's usually a decently long waiting list.
I've gone to one other nonprofit for this trauma before, and TWC was far more helpful to me. They have classes to help you understand what you've gone through, are going through, and will go through. Your friends and family can come with you, so they can learn as well. I've gone to regular therapists who supposedly specialize in sexual trauma, and they've always been clueless. Coming to a place where people truly understand your struggles, makes a huge difference.
My therapist has been amazing. Change is a struggle, and I'm dealing with it. I have made improvements that I'm really proud of, and I couldn't have done it without Anita. We've even managed to make it work during these crazy pandemic times. I still have a ways to go, but I absolutely would not be as far as I am, or even alive, without TWC and their wonderful staff.
This place is awful. The mission statement is fraudulent.
The staff, all the way up to the Clinical Directors, are condescending and belittling. They are power hungry and judgmental. They do not provide a safe and secure place for you to get the help you need.
I would go anywhere but this terrible place. I would also encourage the people funding the grant to put your money elsewhere.
I've heard that Tarrant County has more non-profit organizations per capita than any other county in America. It's hard to verify that claim, but it would be even more difficult to argue with it. Tarrant County has a number of communities and organizations where giving unselfishly is simply expected and respected. And for as many of these organizations that I have been involved with, none of them compare to the amazing efforts The Women's Center puts in day in and day out. Aside from the noble mission of "Inspiring, teaching and empowering women and families to overcome violence, crisis and poverty," the organization is run with such a careful, considerate and professional approach that many Fortune 500 companies would be envious. What really sets The Women's Center apart though is their genuine compassion and dedication to the cause. This group performs amazing work for the community I am blessed to be a part of, and they are the benchmark for any organization with a similar mission around the country.
Keep up the wonderful work and THANK YOU!

This place is not helpful. Friend went there to get help finding employment, she was ushered out quickly due to a charge that was over ten years old. The class instructor was rude and dismissive. If you go there make sure not to have any past convictions. Th e y pride themselves on helping others find employment but they seem discriminatory themselves.
