Review for Fox Valley Family Ymca Inc, Plano, IL, USA

Rating: 1 stars

This is the most backwards and illegal operation I have ever seen pretend to be a nonprofit. The employees drink on the job, forge documents and so on. Thats not the worst of it. The board president, who is supposed to be an unbiased party, is the mother of the Senior Operation Director. I am sick of seeing these two run people that are much more qualified off in order to push her daughter up the chain of command. Under nonprofit law, this is a blatant conflict of interest. I stepped down from the board because I was afraid to be a part of the class action law suit this place needs to be slapped with. I wish someone would do something about it. This place gives an otherwise wonderful organization a horrible name. I wish the YMCA of the USA would take notice and do something about it.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

person. I can't believe its still open with how many laws they break.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Make sure good people were kept in place. The turn around here is ridiculous.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

nothing.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

All the good ones were either pushed out for personal agenda's or left because they couldn't handle the corruption.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Again further its own agenda.

Ways to make it better...

They had actual qualified board members in office rather than those that commit fraud.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

They need a complete change starting from the top.

One thing I'd also say is that...

Something needs to be done. I hope someone of importance reads this and realizes the legal ramifications of whats happening at the Fox Valley YMCA and puts a stop to it.

When was your last experience with this nonprofit?

2010

Role:  Board Member & retired board member.
