Review for Operation Paws for Homes, N.Chesterfield, VA, USA
We were in search of a dog for my 18 year old son.He wanted to have a dog of his own to train and possibly become a therapy dog, like i had done with my 2 dogs.We contacted and filled out adoption applications for a couple of rescues,we were not sure what dog or puppy we wanted yet.The one rescue I adopted my cattle dog mix from just did not have anything we where looking for.OPH sent back some suggetions of dogs,I checked them out but not a match for us.I saw a dog that was about 2yrs old,it was not the breed we where looking for but something kept making me go back to her.I decided to go ahead and tell OPH we were interested in the Carolina dog named De Aza.They did not have much info. on the sight about her so I asked many question & then set up a meet & greet. The foster family was great & really loved their foster pup.We had braught our 2 dogs to meet De Aza and they got along very well and we even all got to take a walk together with the foster Mom & her dog.The foster Mom was even great and let me bring my 2 dogs into her house to play with her dog and De Aza while I filled out the paper work. When we braught her home she was having some issues with discharge that they thaught had stopped.i let them know it did not stop and they got back to me right away & told them to keep them updated when she has her vet visit. They are a great organization to go through. De Aza is Maya and we do not think she is a Carolina dog which they had on their site.We are thinking she is a Pitbull / Cattle dog mix but what ever she is she is a great dog and loves everyone, likes to cuddle and be a bed hog :) She watches everything you do,so much that she gets her feet stepped on all the time. She wants to be with us where ever we go or where ever her sister Bella (my pup) goes.We love her so much already,so glad we went through OPH to adopt her.
