Everyone who knows about Girls on the Run of Montgomery County, MD, knows that GOTR is an amazing program. Its goal of inspiring girls to feel strong and empowered, while teaching them to be self-advocates and sticking up against bullying, is a noble one. But almost as important as its mission is the opportunity it provides elementary age girls to create connections with other inspiring and "safe" women - teachers and parents who serves as the coaches.

I feel good knowing that if my daughter and I are going through a rough patch at home that she has other warm, thoughtful, smart women in her life to turn to for guidance and love. It's just one of the many "perks" of being a GOTR MOCO family.
