Review for Fine Arts Orchestral Society Of Yonkers Inc, Yonkers, NY, USA
I joined the board of the Fine Arts Orchestral Society of Yonkers in the early 80s to help keep the Yonkers Philharmjonic Orchestra and its free concerts alive. As a holder of a Master's Degree in Music I was able to see the pleasure this OK orchestra brought to the community. With increased fiancial support, we were able to hire fine musicians and especially and top nothch concert master to bring the strings to new amazing heights. Today, the orchestra is way above the OK standards; in fact many of our patrons are also subscribers to the New York Philoharmonic Orchestra and are "wowed" by the quality and diversity of programs as well as the presentation; we are lucky to attract international soloist who use the YHonkers Philoharmonic Orchestra for a sounding board to their tours. And the concerts are still admission free and play to full houses.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
it's growth in quality performance and leadership. The musicians respect their conductor and are greatful to be performaing under his baton. Many highschool winners of the annual concerto competition go on to international careers and sometimes return.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
The happiness and enrichments it bringts to the community.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
Build a concert hall which could be shared with other organizations (dance, theatre, choral groups)
