Review for Omni Center For Peace Justice And Ecology, Fayetteville, AR, USA

Rating: 5 stars

This group has been operating since 2001 and has a great bunch of volunteers who do lots of different things. One of my favorites is the Peace and Justice Heroes Banquet every summer. A committee that I work on writes and calls all over the state of Arkansas looking for people who don't know they're working for peace, but they are. We hold a beautiful banquet and present them an olympic-style medallion. People are working hard to do homeless shelters, food banks, women's shelters, help teens, create peace curriculum, help whistle blowers, and lots of great work; but they think they're just doing what they have to do. They're blown away when somebody recognizes them for creating a culture of peace. I'm always amazed about what people around here are willing to do when they see it has a good impact this struggling society. Humans are just awesome when they have the chance.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

Seeing people find their place in the community.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Network with groups all over the country, create even more amazing programming for children and youth, putting them all to work in green jobs, and replicate itself in more cities through the south.

How frequently have you been involved with the organization?

About every week
