My Nonprofit Reviews

Review for Pacific Heart Lung & Blood Institute, Los Angeles, CA, USA
I have volunteered for a few PHLBI events. Having volunteered for many, many organizations for the past 25 years, I can say that PHLBI is one of the best organizations to volunteer for--there is just so much heart in everything they do! Unlike those experiences you have when you know you are just a number on a volunteer list, PHLBI really stands out by personalizing their communication with you, making it a point to know your name, and showing sincere appreciation for your contribution that would turn the head of even Dale Carnegie. This is the type of treatment you want as a volunteer--knowing that you aren't just disposable free labor invited out to do the work the employees don't want to do. Nope, with PHLBI, you are invited to help them do the work they are doing right alongside you. As a volunteer, you are treated just like a donor or sponsor--a relationship is being cultivated with care for the long run. What else can you ask for? To me, that kind of attention is worth far more than a rough cotton t-shirt!
