I am so impressed with the innovative and important work being conducted at TRI. The organization has been a leader in changing the way that addiction is managed by the healthcare system – and the way that it is understood by the general public. Thanks to the work of Tom McLellan, Abigail Woodworth and others at TRI, we now know that addiction is a treatable, medical disease, similar to hypertension. This research alone has massively changed the way addiction is understood and treated throughout the world. But TRI has also been a leader in changing policies and calling for improvements to the treatment system. As a donor, I am confident that TRI is using my contribution to make a significant difference in the field.
