Review for Broadway By the Bay, Redwood City, CA, USA
I've been a stage manager for Broadway by the Bay for 16 years, and volunteered on the crew for a few years before that. The company provides a wonderful opportunity for community performers to appear in a professional quality production alongside theater professionals. Volunteer opportunities exist for crew members, where valuable technical theater skills are taught. I am a big fan of the company, because they provide an opportunity for community involvement in every area of musical theater production, without compromising artistic quality.

there was a larger budget to allow more flexibility in the artistic process and greater community participation.

the increased cost of theatrical space, and the limited availability of rental sets of broadway quality.
