Review for Operation Paws for Homes, N.Chesterfield, VA, USA
I just adopted a 1 year old irish setter from OPH and the only off thing I could say about the experience is that the application/application process is a bit long and extensive, so if your looking to adopt a dog in 24 hours this isn't the place. However, if you're looking for an organization who will make sure you get the dog that will fit with you, your family, your lifestyle and your home then OPH is amazing. The amount and clarity of communication from the adoption coordinators and fosters is above and beyond what I had expected. They do ask a lot of questions about the adopter, the new home the dog will be entering, and the lifestyle, but it's only to get the best picture they can to be able to make the best match possible. When my adoption coordinator called me for my phone interview we were on the phone for over an hour. She asked me some questions and to clarify some things from my application but was very thorough on making sure I understood the next steps. She made some recommendations on dogs she thought would be a good match and I was able to put a hold a dog that night. When I got to meet the dog, his foster was also great. You could tell hat everyone working with this organization truly cared about these animals. When we left the foster even sent some goodies as a "good luck" present for my pup. The adoption coordinator and foster both made it very clear that if I ever needed anything or had any questions to please contact them. They are always available as a resource. I have now had Finn for three weeks and he is fitting in perfectly. Thank you so much OPH for giving me the chance to adopt this little guy. OPH is an amazing organization to work with and I would recommend them to anyone looking for a new furry family member.
