Review for Locks of Love, West Palm Beach, FL, USA

Rating: 5 stars

i cut and gave to Locks of Love about 3 years ago... granted, i had really, really short hair after that cut, but, i had hair.. and learned a good lesson that it's not what we look like, but who we are on the inside that makes us who we are.. my hair has since grown out, and i'm going this weekend to cut it again and give it to Locks of Love... it's the least i can do!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

getting the satisfaction of giving something i have to benefit someone in need

Ways to make it better...

i could grow my hair faster! i can only participate about every 3 years, but plan on continuing to do so

Review for Hugs Project Incorporated, Oklahoma City, OK, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I have worked with the Hugs Chapter in Lilburn, Ga for several years now, and it's such a rewarding feeling to be able to do something for our Troops overseas in return for all they do for us. I look forward to the times that I can work with our group in making the hug ties, preparing packages or even gathering items for mailings. It's amazing how much something so 'trivial' to us, such as a Q-Tip can mean so much to someone in the 'fields'. It's the least I can do! I would like to thank the Oklahoma group for even starting the Hugs Project. It's touched so many lives. As a parent of a son who will be starting his military career in a couple of years, I'm relieved to know that there's a group like this that will help take care of some of his needs. Thanks Hugs Project - for all you do and for letting me help you do it!!!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

seeing the pictures and letters from the receivers of the packages and had the self fulfillment of knowing I CAN do something to help those so far away.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

send a whole lot more packages out!!

Review for Trinity Community Ministries Inc, Atlanta, GA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

This is a wonderful program which I have been involved with for a period of time. These guys work hard to succeed at the program and turn their lives around. It's tough, but Trinity provides the means for them. Since Trinity House is a non profit, it relies on donations and support from the community. I realize that with today's economy, everyone is feeling the pinch. Please dig deep and find a way to support these guys - whether it's a monetary donation, providing an evening meal, or just getting them something as simple as a bar of soap or a bag of rice! Those of us involved in helping to support are doing the best we can, but we've been feeling that pinch as well, and, honestly, people in need shouldn't have to go without, since so many have an excess of time and materials. Keep up the good work, guys! We'll see you next month! two dozen

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

their hard work at completing their task, as well as their openness to share their experiences with others in the community, so that the youth today (or grown ups, for that matter) don't fall into the places they've been.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

work wonders for so many more men in need. Wouldn't that be nice!
