The Neighborhood Academy is Pittsburgh's only faith-based, independent college-prep school whose mission is to break the cycle of generational poverty by preparing low-income youth for college and citizenship.

Students in grades 8th-12th are immersed in a year-round, extended day model designed to bridge academic gaps to a rigorous college-preparatory curriculum. Programs are designed specifically to anticipate and meet the needs of low-income, inner-city youth. Students enjoy after-school athletics and arts, and numerous college visits in a safe school environment.

We are very exceptionally grateful to the trustees of the Nimick Forbesway Foundation, and Foundation Manager, Hayley Cavallaro. Hayley is a joy & is well ahead of the curve with communication & technology. She does her due diligence & site visits with finesse; sharing videos/pics with her board making distance for those unable to travel a non-barrier.
