We've worked with a number of foundations. The Nimick Forbesway Foundation not only gets it, but they are easy to work with and always professional. They look to fund what really works, and they are discerning about who they support. They cast a critical eye. Our organization is relatively small and focused like a laser on academic achievement. Nimick Forbesway recognized the value of Simpson Street Free Press curriculum and methods very quickly. They stepped in to help us. Since that time we have grown to be one of the most influential nonprofit education programs in Wisconsin. We continue to be thoroughly impressed by Nimick Forbesway.
The Nimick Forbesway Foundation is fast becoming one of the leading voices in our nation to promote how deep reflection and inquiry, rooted in our sense of what is beautiful and true, can renew both mind and spirit. We could not be more grateful for the foundation's appreciative interest in the legacy and potential of this uniquely historic space as well as the conversations that its architecture and artistry so often help to inspire. Washington National Cathedral receives no direct operating funds from any level of government and is not subsidized through the budget of its diocese, its denomination, or the national office of any faith: it depends entirely on private philanthropy to support its mission, and here the Nimick Forbesway Foundation’s grantmaking has been nothing short of visionary. Even better, working with its personnel has been a joy. We are proud, both personally and corporately, of our ongoing partnership.
George Washington’s Mount Vernon is most grateful for the Nimick Forbesway Foundation’s support for our mission of education and preservation. They embrace creativity, as shown by their funding of innovative preservation projects in General Washington’s Mansion, while also supporting new print publications and changing exhibits in our museum, all of which explore often overlooked facets of Washington’s life and diverse talents. As a result, the Foundation has made a true impact in providing new opportunities for visitors and people around the world to learn about the real George Washington and how his timeless examples of character and leadership are still relevant today. Hayley Cavallaro has been a joy to work with, and we are truly appreciative of the Nimick Forbesway Foundation’s efforts to help us keep Washington’s legacy alive.
Archipelago Books is immensely grateful for the support of the Nimick Forbesway Foundation. With their support, we were able to launch a five-city tour for Romanian author Mircea Cartarescu, on the translation and publication in the US of his novel BLINDING. The support of the Nimick Forbesway Foundation has allowed American readers to discover this vital Romanian author in person, at the readings and events in Minneapolis, San Francisco, Boston, New York, and Washington, DC. The Nimick Forbesway Foundation is an essential part of our operation, and we're grateful for them.
East End Cooperative Ministry is so grateful for the support of the Nimick Forbesway Foundation! Over several years, they have faithfully supported our various programs, and our capital campaign to build our new facility that has already had a huge impact on the individuals and families we serve!
From a Sibley Memorial Hospital nurse, that benefited from the generous support of the Nimick Forbesway Foundation.
"I would like to thank you for your support of my Special Care Nursery! The support of the Foundation has allowed me and my colleagues to achieve an important milestone in our careers-our clinical certification. This certification will allow me and my colleagues to continue to do what we do best-provide exceptional patient care.
Thank you once again,
Amy, RN III, BSN, RNC-LRN
The Neighborhood Academy is a faith-based, college preparatory independent school whose mission is to break the generational cycle of poverty by preparing low-income youth for college and citizenship.
We are very exceptionally grateful to the trustees of the Nimick Forbesway Foundation, and Foundation Manager, Hayley Cavallaro. Hayley is a joy & is well ahead of the curve with communication & technology. She does her due diligence & site visits with finesse; sharing videos/pics with her board making distance for those unable to travel a non-barrier.
True to their mission, the Nimick Forbesway Foundation has made a valuable difference as a philanthropist organization, strengthening the community of Pittsburgh, and beyond.
Second Harvest Foodbank of Southern Wisconsin is grateful for the creativity and leadership of the Nimick Forbesway Foundation. The foundation has provided increased philanthropic support while engaging other donors as a result of several successful matching challenges. Their encouragement of others to give time and funds furthers our mission of ending hunger in southwestern Wisconsin as more individuals have become invested in the mission too.
Since 2012, the Nimick Forbesway Foundation has played a leadership role in advancing the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy’s efforts to conserve land in Laurel Highlands. The generous support from the Foundation has helped WPC protect nearly 1,500 acres of ecologically significant land – all of which is open to the public for hunting, fishing and other recreational activities. The Conservancy greatly appreciates the Foundation’s decision to invest in a legacy of protected land for the benefit of current and future residents.
The Nimick Forbesway Foundation has played a monumental role in the success of International Student Conferences, Inc., specifically with our two programs the Japan-America Student Conference (JASC) and the Korea-America Student Conference (KASC). Their fervent dedication to international education along with our mission to promote peace through mutual understand and friendship is felt not only through their grants, but also through the support and encouragement of their Trustees, Chairman Charles Lockhart Nimick, and Foundation Manager Hayley Cavallaro. Without their support, our programs would not continue to inspire a new class of leaders in the U.S.-Japan and U.S.-Korea relationship each year.
The Nimick Forbesway Foundation has taken a leadership role in Madison's philanthropy. As a donor to the Madison Public Library Foundation they have show a great commitment to serving the educational and social needs of our community. They are not one to shy away from the big problems of homelessness, hunger and inequity in our community, and they have a strong vision of how to work with multiple organizations to affect change. Thank you for being a socially conscious donor.
As a grantee, the Piedmont Environmental Council appreciates the Nimick Forbesway Foundation’s engagement in our work and their clear communications with us about their processes and decisionmaking. Their Board and staff have really dug into our programs and asked the right questions. After a site visit by the Foundation earlier this year, we were energized by how deeply one of the Trustees and their program manager immersed themselves in our efforts. They approach our work in a spirit of support and deep appreciation, and that seems to be true of their relationships with all of their grantees.
I cannot say enough about the Nimick Forbesway Foundation and the positive impacts this foundation has had on our organization and so many others. The Loyalhanna Watershed Association has been privileged and honored to work with NFF and the incredible directors and staff that represent fully what the foundation strives to achieve. The foundation has brought the vision of the Watershed Farm restoration project to reality through their dedication and support. They are true champions of our environment and have provided us with a unique opportunity to grow our organization and involve students of all ages in an exceptional environmental education center. Without their support and leadership, our organization would not be what we are today.
The Nimick Forbesway Foundation has made all of the difference to Aspinwall Riverfront Park. Our project began when our community was trying to raise $2.3 million to buy a piece of riverfront property slated to become a 450 car parking lot. We only had six months to pull it off, and Nimick Forbesway Foundation's generosity was critical to our success. Since, we've been developing the Park as rapidly as we can so that the hundreds of children who are involved can enjoy the Park while they are still children. They've taken a leadership role in this effort, and their most recent donation gives us a big leap forward to creating the River access our community has long been denied. Simply put, we would not have this Park or this significant progress without the generosity of the Nimick Forbesway Foundation. Their directors are involved and very supportive, and Foundation Manager Hayley Cavallaro is not only kind, she's a consummate professional.
