As a 2011 Alumni of Grayson College I know that the Foundation helped me in attending classes and finishing my Associates in Music here. Also as I transferred to Texas A&M University-Commerce I was able to receive my Bachelors Degree and with the help of a Ray and Mary Morrison transfer scholarship from the Foundation I was able to continue my education and graduate in 2013 from there. Without the help I would not have financially been able to go to college. My parents could not afford to send me to college because of the cost but wanted me to get a higher education and as a non-traditional student I knew that it was also my responsibility to go to school. The people that work in the Foundation Office and Board are amazing individuals and their goal of helping to provide ways for others to achieve their dreams is very important and dear to their hearts. It was an honor to continue my education with the help of my alumni Grayson College to be my encourager as I went on to TAMU-C. This really helped me on rough days because I knew that I accomplished my goal at GC and that they were there helping me to achieve my current goal from a distance. Every semester it also helped me to keep my goals high because I knew to keep my scholarships I had to have my grade point average high, helping me to push it even higher. The support that I received made a huge difference in my life because someone believed in me helping me to accomplish my dreams of a degree. I always encourage others to go to Grayson and start their dreams and always remind them of scholarships offered by the Foundation by telling them of my experiences. It is a great school with great faculty and staff. They truly care for you and want the best for you. Without the Foundation I would not have been able to complete this journey of obtaining both of my degrees and to them I am forever grateful. One day I plan on helping others in college somehow to pay it forward.
