The Grayson County College Foundation has been instrumental in changing the lives of so many in our County and surrounding areas. We have listened to many stories of the students from the Nursing program to the Culinary Program and others , as well, that have been impacted by the Scholarships that have been given out and also the support they receive from the Mentoring Program. This Foundation is a very vital part of Grayson County College !

this is such an important and great organization in our community. The scholarships they give out help so many kids in our community be able to go to college and build their future careers.

The Grayson County College Foundation has helped so many students obtain their academic goals. They do so much for the community and try to make sure college is affordable for everyone. I have personally received scholarships from this amazing foundation for both the 2018/2019 and 2019/2020 school years. Without these scholarships, college would have been a lot harder to afford. These scholarships lifted a burden off myself and my family, and allowed me to focus on my school work. Not worrying about how to afford college, I have successfully maintained a 4.0 GPA. I am forever thankful for the Grayson County College Foundation for everything they have done for me and for the whole community.

This Foundation provides thousands of dollars in scholarships for our students each year! Many would not be able to attend college without this help.

We have a great machining program which has some high school students enrolled. When textbook cost became an issue the Grayson county College Foundation stepped up and assisted several high school students. Their quick assistance allowed the students to stay in class and finish their course.

I work in the Veteran Services Office at Grayson College. Whenever a veteran is in need of some extra funding, our office reaches out to the GC Foundation and help is immediate. The staff there are friendly and always ready to help.

I worked at the GC Foundation for 18 years. I retired from there in Jan, 2015. I truly believe that hundreds - if not thousands of lives were changed...and are continuing to be changed, for the better...due to the financial assistance students received through the generosity of the many wonderful donors who give so freely. It's a very worthy cause, and the funds you give to the GC Foundation are used wisely.

They are here for the community. We are lucky to have such a wonderful asset!

The impact this foundation has made on the life's of thousands of students is priceless. Student's have been given the educational opportunities to change their lives. Grayson College Foundation is amazing! As someone who works closely with students, I see first hand the impact of scholarships from the foundation. I work with a large number of students who would not be able to attend school without the help received from the foundation. These students deserve the opportunity for a higher education and the foundation makes that dream reality! I can't put into words the situations some students are in and because of our generous donors and the Grayson Foundation, dreams are coming true!

As an Alumni & faculty member of Grayson College, I am honored to write on behalf of the Foundation. The foundation works very hard on providing scholarships & resources to our students & faculty members on a daily basis.

Being an alumni for Grayson County College I am so happy to see the works of the Grayson County College Foundation. The work they do to be able to provide scholarships for the students coming into Grayson College is something unlike anywhere else. They truly value on being able to offer scholarships to those in need and that are seeking to get a first class education. Grayson County College Foundation is a blessing to the surrounding community.

As an educator, I know what a difference a good foundation can make in helping a college Gain equipment and tools to teach, but to also help students reach their goals. I have seen our foundation do both of these tasks extremely well. They have helped raise funds for equipment and buildings for Culinary Arts, Advanced Manufacturing and athletics. I have also meet several of the students that it has helped over the years and have heard all of the stories of how the foundation helped to transform their lives. This is what I feel non profits should be about, giving people a hand up, not a hand out.

As an instructor, I recently worked with the GC Foundation to create scholarships for students progressing through a prep course and qualifying early for core courses. The requested scholarships were generous and promptly provided to support these students!

Grayson County College Foundation is supported and respected by the Texoma Community. Both industries and individuals contribute to the success of the foundation to help students overcome obstacles and become successful. Grayson County College Foundation serves a vital part in the education experience of many students who might not otherwise get the chance because of financial barriers.

I have only been here a short time, but have seen the great work this foundation has done for students. The area is growing, and they are providing the opportunity for all students to have a wonderful college experience. With this foundation, they have allowed limitless boundaries for people from all walks of life.

Grayson college has had a huge impact on my life! Not only was it the college I attended after being out of School for 24 years, it was also the only place to grant me a scholarship when I transferred to an out of state college. Grayson is dedicated to student success. I want to teach there once I finish college.

Grayson College plays a huge role in our community, helping to prepare students for the next step in their educational journey or to train them for the local workforce. And the Grayson County College Foundation is at the heart of this, providing vital financial support and aid to people who probably couldn't continue their education without it.
It's impossible to accurately track the impact the foundation and its support have had on students over the years, but it's safe to say it has changed a lot of students' lives forever and helped them attain careers they didn't dream of when they were in high school.

As an adjunct faculty member at Grayson College, and a former president of the Foundation Board, I can speak to its value from several perspectives. Several of my former students have been helped by the Foundation's generosity, and their lives have been changed. I have also noted the positive connections created between donors and the students their gifts have helped. The Foundation is a winner from both sides of the coin.

As an educator, it is truly amazing to see what an impact the foundation's assistance has on Grayson students. Their confidence and drive becomes solid. We all very much appreciate the hard work and generosity of its members and donors!

The Grayson County College Foundation is a critical resource for many educational pursuits of our college students as well as for faculty/staff. The Foundation has a grant writer who is continually seeking funds for our student veterans and has been very successful. In fact, in 2015, Grayson College was one of 13 schools nationwide to receive special funding from the U. S. Dept. of Education for improvement of veteran services and activities at Grayson College. Presently, the Foundation and it's staff and Board are actively engaged in assisting the Veteran Services Office at Grayson College secure funding for our inaugural Military Ball and also for bringing the Eyes of Freedom Memorial to the north Texas area. The Grayson County College Foundation has proven to be invaluable to the growth and success of Grayson College and its students.

I am proud to support the Grayson College Foundation. Each year, I meet students who received the direct benefit of my gift through scholarships, and I know that lives are being changed for the better. The student success stories are powerful.

The Foundation is an amazing resource for students young and old alike in our community. I've personally been blessed by them on my educational journey and so grateful for their many works!

Grayson County College Foundation helps students afford the costs of education. From leveraging workforce grants, to veterans aid funding, to direct financial aid, the Foundation organizes funds to improve College programs and make education more affordable.

This foundation has helped numerous students succeed in receiving an education. They are an excellent organization.

The Grayson County College Foundation goes above and beyond for it's students. I am a veteran and though I receive veteran educational benefits, there has been a few gaps here and there in my need for additional funding. The Foundation has made it a secure, easy and thorough process that ensures that those that need help get it.

Grayson County College Foundation helped me in a very tremendous way. I was stressed about how I was going to pay for school and after crying for many hours, I walked out to my mailbox and there sat a letter of acceptance saying that I had been awarded a scholarship. They will never know the impact they had and still do til this day on my future. If it was not for receiving the funds from the foundation office, I would of dropped all of my classes.

Grayson County College Foundation supports student success one student at a time. They take each student individually and help facilitate conversations and enthusiasm for furthering his/her education. It's a secondary family support system for our students, and we are grateful to have them in our community and as an important team player in Grayson County.

As a graduate of the first full class, 1965-67, I’ve always been extremely proud to claim Grayson as the school that helped me start a 44-year professional career. And now, at 71, it seems I’m meeting more and more graduates of GC. Just recently a young professional from Sherman who got his bachelor’s degree from Austin College told me it was a great experience starting his college career at Grayson. I loved hearing that.

Small colleges are where big dreams begin. The ability to be seen and heard on a small campus allows students to find their place and have confidence they can succeed with the right attitude and hard work. I have mentored a student that worked two jobs and carried a full load. He finished at the top of his class and went on to UNT Denton. A Grayson College Foundation scholarship made it possible.

Grayson College Foundation supports the mission of Grayson a College by providing resources students need to achieve their goals. The mission of GC is student success, and the Foundation is instrumental in fulfilling that mission.

Grayson College has played a vital role in the community for many years both for college preparation as well as vocational training. I've served on the board for many years and contribute regularly because it is one of the most worthwhile causes for which I am aware. I'm presently off the board but continue to contribute. The leadership is very strong and uses what resources they have wisely. I am proud to say that I've been associated with the college and the foundation.

Speaking on behalf of The Grayson County College Foundation is the most rewarding experience i have ever had. Telling people how they have changed my future is very exciting. Here is a np that really helps veterans. In the case of one vet I have met - he held two jobs, went to school full time and a working wife with children at home. He travelled over 100 miles for reserve drill weekends. He was so delighted to receive a GC scholarship that enabled him to continue his education. While that scholarship was small to start, just the idea of his dedication and gratitude helped it to grow almost instantly and to continue for other veterans. GC is a great supporter of our veterans in many ways, but the work of the Foundation leads them all.

The Grayson College Foundation has helped me in so many ways! I applied for one and was awarded it then was able to receive another one about a week into school because I met all the qualifications for it! I can't thank them enough for helping so much! I am currently in the Dental Assisting program and it has helped tremendously with the expensive book bundle and other supplies!

The GC Foundation has helped me tremendously! I am currently a student in the MLT Program and hope to graduate very soon. I highly ecourage my classmates to cooperate with the college in whatever way possible. I believe it's a way of giving back for the assistance we receive.

My husband and I give to Grayson College Foundation because Grayson's very reasonable tuition is still out of reach for high school graduates from low-income families, single parents, mature workers who have been laid off, etc. If you help someone get an education, your donation is multiplied many times as that person spends money locally, pays taxes, and hopefully is then able to ensure their own children are educated.

The Foundation and College as a whole are good stewards of the donors' and taxpayers' dollars.

The GC Foundation has not only helped my peers and I obtain our education, they have worked hard to recognize us for our hard work. They have also supported me in my transition from student to teacher and leader.

Earning a college degree is one of the most important steps towards entering the working world and one of the most important investments that students can make for their future. Yet the cost of this investment is higher today than ever before. As a retired Grayson College Dean, current Grayson College Trustee, and co-chairing the 2015 Grayson College Foundation Scholarship Drive with my wife, gives us the opportunity and joys of working in the Grayson College Foundation at virtually all levels. We see and feel the interest and understanding which manifest itself into financial assistance for many students that absolutely transform their lives into employable workers and productive members of our community. Obtaining scholarship funds for qualified students that could not attend college without the help and understanding of our Grayson College Foundation which is what we do so very well. Both our larger local high schools have a high rate of students in low income situations that need financial aid to attend college. Since 1995, our foundation has gone from giving 4 scholarships to more than 500 each year, a tremendous growth in giving! If not for the efforts of the foundation members, many of these students would not have the opportunity to continue their education. Great job to all associated with Grayson College Foundation!

The GCC Foundation reaches out to the community and makes a definite impact on the youth of Grayson County.

The Welding Rodeo that they sponsor is outstanding. I have had a great number of students that have participated and benefitted from this. Several of my students have received scholarships, but all of my students that have participated have benefitted from their participation in this GREAT event. As an Agricultural Science teacher I am always looking for things for students to participate in, that will have a positive impact on their future. The Grayson College Welding Rodeo has been an outstanding event that has benefitted my students.

As a former student and employee at Grayson College, I am pleased with the job that the Grayson County College foundation does in getting funding for our students and our programs. The Foundation employees are all hardworking and cheerful, and are the reason for the Foundation's rapid growth over the past few years.

Grayson County College is a wonderful institution in the pleasant rolling hill-country of far north Texas. During my past year at Grayson, I've met the most enthusiastic, honest, hard-working, driven, talented, & genuine students I've ever taught in my life.

The student body at Grayson works diligently to achieve success, and display such earnestness in their desire to achieve an education, it warms my heart to be able to work with them regularly. The students come to class prepared & ready to learn on a daily basis, and the devoted staff and faculty provide these students with a top-quality education, driven by their own passions and desires to see Grayson students succeed and achieve their goals.

Grayson College has impressed me thoroughly in every regard. It is rare to find such talented teachers and students working so closely together to achieve common goals. Grayson is a model of what a college community should be like, and I completely expect to see the college grow in stature over the coming decades as it continues to serve Grayson county and the north Texas area.

As a Faculty member and program director, I am constantly amazed of the service and product offered by the Grayson College Foundation. As the Theatre Director, I have seen first hand how many students have been granted money and have benefited from this organization. I don't know how they do it, but I'm glad they do!

I am a former student at Grayson College and support the work of the GC Foundation. Grayson serves a diverse group of students, many who do not have the resources to attend college. With the help of the GC Foundation, these students are able to pursue their goals and become more productive members of our community. Luckily, many people in our community are aware of the work of the Foundation and support it generously. The staff at the Foundation work tirelessly to be able to help our students, and further support could help "just one more."

Watching the Grayson Colege Foundation in action is amazing. The energy and effort put out by the Foundation staff far exceeds their job descriptions. The scholarships they award to students truly transform lives.

As a 2011 Alumni of Grayson College I know that the Foundation helped me in attending classes and finishing my Associates in Music here. Also as I transferred to Texas A&M University-Commerce I was able to receive my Bachelors Degree and with the help of a Ray and Mary Morrison transfer scholarship from the Foundation I was able to continue my education and graduate in 2013 from there. Without the help I would not have financially been able to go to college. My parents could not afford to send me to college because of the cost but wanted me to get a higher education and as a non-traditional student I knew that it was also my responsibility to go to school. The people that work in the Foundation Office and Board are amazing individuals and their goal of helping to provide ways for others to achieve their dreams is very important and dear to their hearts. It was an honor to continue my education with the help of my alumni Grayson College to be my encourager as I went on to TAMU-C. This really helped me on rough days because I knew that I accomplished my goal at GC and that they were there helping me to achieve my current goal from a distance. Every semester it also helped me to keep my goals high because I knew to keep my scholarships I had to have my grade point average high, helping me to push it even higher. The support that I received made a huge difference in my life because someone believed in me helping me to accomplish my dreams of a degree. I always encourage others to go to Grayson and start their dreams and always remind them of scholarships offered by the Foundation by telling them of my experiences. It is a great school with great faculty and staff. They truly care for you and want the best for you. Without the Foundation I would not have been able to complete this journey of obtaining both of my degrees and to them I am forever grateful. One day I plan on helping others in college somehow to pay it forward.

When my wife and I (at 50 years old) decided to change my life's career direction from sales to serving children who may otherwise not receive a real shot, or encouragement, at building a successful life; many of our friends and family found the idea..... unique to say the least! (Those closest to me believed I was losing my mind in a mid-life crisis!) In reality, I wanted to do something meaningful with my life to satisfy the ever present desire in my heart to serve the young people in our society. Young dreamers who may not otherwise have the encouragement needed to pursue a successful and fulfilling destiny. Besides, I figured there was still 15 or 20 years left in my tank!

Together, we made a commitment that I would earn a college degree in order to accomplish a very worthy goal. I entered Grayson County College to begin my journey. Ironically, while attending GCC, I suffered open-heart surgery and spinal replacement surgery. In addition to those challenges, I was sending 2 kids through college; and due to budget cut-backs, my wife lost her job (which we had heavily counted on in our decision-making!)

Between the co-pays, medical out-of-pocket costs and lost income, my dream seemed under attack, and growing more impossible! If not for Grayson County College Scholarships, I do not believe I could have completed my Associates degree at GCC; and then been able to transfer to Southeastern Oklahoma State University; where I am set to graduate next year with a Teaching Degree in Social Studies. I am going to be a History teacher!

I am forever indebted to the Grayson Foundation for giving me a chance to be put in the position of impacting perhaps hundreds of lives in the coming years. The financial aid with which the Foundation has so graciously blessed me, has indeed changed my life - and perhaps will serve to someday better the world!

Grayson County College Foundation, has helped me since I moved out here to this area for school. the foundation has helped me with my financial burden every semester when I needed help. this foundation is all about helping student who want to better themselves. At previous schools I have attended, this is the only school that has went over and beyond to help me. I greatly appreciate what this foundation has done for me.

As I am out and about in the Grayson County area, almost daily I encounter someone who has received a scholarship from the GCC Foundation. GRAYSON COUNTY COLLEGE FOUNDATION IS AN THAT HELPS STUDENTS GET SCHOLARSHIPS THAT ALLOWS STUDENTS TO GO TO COLLEGE. THEY ARE CONSONANTLY LOOKING FOR WAYS TO HAVE FUNDRAISERS THAT HELP STUDENTS THAT HAVE FINANCIAL CHALLENGES TO COME TO GRAYSON. I HAVE HELPED ORGANIZE STUDENT AMBASSADORS WITH DINNERS, GOLF TOURNAMENTS AND CALL- A -THONS. LIVES ARE CHANGED! THERE FOCUS IS ALWAYS TRYING TO HELPS STUDENTS!!!

The Grayson County College Foundation offers a hand up - not a hand out - to the students it serves. Many students who benefit from the funds have overcome challenging life circumstances and roadblocks in their journey to success. For those students, the funds awarded by the Foundation are a lifeline and confirmation that someone cares. In turn the recipients often bless others by becoming donors themselves.

My wife and I have loved working with the Grayson College Foundation and it's board members. They all have wonderful personalities. Tina and Roy are just nice people and certainly make sure that we know our money is being put to use, for the students and not being consumed by extravagant perks for themselves and the organization. We love getting student letters and updates. We work with other college foundations and don't get near the amount of feedback that we get from GCCF. Other Foundations have handling fees that take away from the funds actually applied to scholarships, not GCCF. We had some specific areas of education that we wanted to specifically target. Tina and Roy have made sure that scholarship/recipients have stayed in line with our request. Thanks Grayson County College Foundation!
