Review for Operation Paws for Homes, N.Chesterfield, VA, USA
I had a great experience with OPH and because of them, our family found a perfect new addition. He is the "love of our lives" and we all try to spend as much time as possible for him. We interacted with several OPH volunteers including the foster and several volunteers in the adoption process. This poor guy was saved from being killed in a shelter only a day before he was to die. He was skin and bones and scared and so sweet. We didn't meet him until a few weeks later after he had been in his foster home getting healthy and gaining weight. The rescue kept us updated on his progresss and answered all our questions and there were many. Even after we were able to take him home they helped us settle him in, followed up daily and weekly and we still correspond. It felt like they found him especially for us, and we are all now all connected in one big OPH family. I know that if anything ever happened to me or my wife and we couldn't take care of our boy, OPH would take him in, love him and find him a new place. That is a great comfort to us.
OPH was recommended to us by our neighbor and we continue to recommend them to all the people we meet in the dog park. The volunteers were fast to respond, gave us as much information as they could, kept us updated and the whole experience was wonderful.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
Give them more money to do what they do. They rely on donations to save dogs and I think the volunteers do so much in taking care of these dogs in their own homes.
