Review for Operation Paws for Homes, N.Chesterfield, VA, USA
This organization runs a bait and switch scam, promising dogs to multiple people. This happened to me and at least two other people I know of I am sure there are more. We applied and were approved, the lady who worked with us was very nice so was her supervisor. We drove a great distance to meet the dog as instructed were able to visit with the dog only to be told the dog was going home with someone else the board of directors liked better. This is so unfair and just down right wrong. Of course we never received any explanation from the higher ups. I do not trust this organization. No one should. We were approved but then denied because someone liked someone else better.
UPDATE: I can not respond to the organization's comment there is not a way to so I offer this edit to clear the air. I am not sure what the comments made have to do with my situation. Your inside staffing issues can not be blamed for poor and unfair treatment of others. If your actions in your organization are like the way you treated us and a few others I have read about, there are reviews on the internet as has been pointed out, then it is not surprising you failed at bringing on a new employee. My complaint is with the board of directors, they were called on the day we were denied the dog we drove hours to meet. I can only assume the comments made here by Operation paws for home is to try and put the blame somewhere other than on them. Wrong.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
They need a new board of directors in my opinion. What they did to us was cruel.

OPH Rescue hired an Executive Director to come into the organization, learn about dog rescue, and build programs and fundraise. Unfortunately, on July 8th, OPH came to the decision that the person hired was not fulfilling the roles and responsibilities of the job. The Board used matrix to evaluate performance and the results were unacceptable. The Board used a Transition Plan to transition knowledge of existing program and to include the Director into the fundraising opportunities that were ongoing in the rescue. Unfortunately the results were not effective. As a result, the Board made the decision to end the employment relationship. As you can see from the date of this post, there is a direct correlation to the employment relationship ending. We are saddened that the outcome has resulted in the untrue information presented here. We welcome the public to view the other reviews and make their own determination.
