I first accessed New Beginnings of Tampa in 2003. I was drinking and doing drugs, and during this time I became ill. One day the Director of New Beginnings came to where I was to take potential clients to the detox program at New Beginnings. I was not allowed to access the program because of my ill-health. When the Director came the second time, I crawled on my hands and knees, (that was how ill I was), and begged him to take me with him to the program. He finally relented, and I have been here at New Beginnings for over 10 years at their Transitional Housing after my initial detox program was finished. Through the detox program I regained my sobriety, and through the health care program that New Beginnings connected me with, and with loving care by the staff and volunteers of New Beginnings, I am in the process of regaining my health. I would recommend New Beginnings to anyone that need Emergency Shelter, Transitional Housing, Substance Abuse Counseling, Hot Meals, Clothing, Hygiene Items. etc. Over the past 15 years, New Beginnings has served thousands of homeless and disadvantaged individuals, and countless lives have been positively impacted through the various services that New Beginnings provides.
