There is nothing more rewarding than the feeling of volunteering for worthy cause and have the satisfaction to see your efforts produce some positive results. This is what HavServe, a 100% volunteer organization has been doing in the small community of Lebrun Miragoâne (Haiti) a few hours from Port-au-Prince. HavServe is dealing there with a community school with many volunteers providing education to primary schoolers, Thos volunteers are of different nationalities and there are 52 Haitian teachers devoting their time to the full development of the kids. HavServe activities are financed by your tax-free contributions and you can visit their website to have an idea of what it has been doing. It is in urgent needs of more contributions. By the way, save the date: January 16, 2016, it will hold is annual Gala at Veterans Plaza in Silver Spring, Md. You will have the opportunity to see, meet and hear those responsible for making these kids' lives better. Your tax-deductible dollar will go a long way toward paying a teacher's salary, provide a full education to these kids, or help organize a summer camp like the one that took place this summer when nearly 500 hundred kids enjoy a full month of all kinds of activity, both recreational and educational, as well as 3 meals a day.

When Carline Brice, the founder of HavServe, told me over a year ago about the plight of the School in Lebrun, I told my wife about it and we decided to have a fundraiser in our own residence, so that the construction of the school could be finished. I have been involved with HavServe since and I have been sponsoring 2 teachers so that they can continue serving the kids and have a little steady income to take care of their own families. It is quite amazing to see how much the organization has accomplished and plans to accomplish with a 100% volunteer staff. Every penny goes to helping and that is why the work is so rewarding! There is so much to do, yet so much to be satisfied about: education, the kids learning; the gardening project; the computer lab; the environment, the food program for the kids etc etc. All this requiring more financial help and most important, help that will not go to waste or end up in someone's pocket. That is HavServe Volunteer Service Network!
