Review for Lord S Pantry of Downingtown, Downingtown, PA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

The Lord's Pantry is run completely by volunteers and I am certain that my donations, both food and money, will support those who are truly in need. There is no "middleman" making any money off my donations and I like this about donating to the Lord's Pantry.

Review for Lord S Pantry of Downingtown, Downingtown, PA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I have been volunteering for the Lord's Pantry for about 10 years or so. I have seen it grow from a 2-closet area in the basement of a church to occupying an entire building that was purchased after extensive fund raising and private donations. There is more room for our clients to sit and wait comfortably while waiting to shop and there is more room for storage and an administrative office for the director. I enjoy volunteering at the Lord's Pantry. Most of our clients are so appreciative of what they receive and are very pleasant to work with. Jan Leaf is an excellent director and a very caring, generous and compassionate person.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

helping friends who were in need of the pantry as an emergency source of food and saw how it helped their self-esteem.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

working with other volunteers and getting to know some of the clients on a personal level.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

generous of their time and very anxious to help the clients at the pantry.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

easily feed ALL those in the vicinity of the pantry and perhaps extend their help to include emergency situations (e.g., pay the heating bill or buy shoes for the children to wear to school.)

How frequently have you been involved with the organization?

About every month
