My Nonprofit Reviews

When I was eight years old my parents took my brothers and myself camping in a deep woods park in Onterio Canada. While hiking on a nature trail, titled Lookout Point, we wereable to hear wolves howling back and forth across the valley. I was amazed and have read stories and articles on wolves for the past fifty years. I have followed the progress wolves were making on their comeback from near extinction in the lower forty eight. I sponsered a wolf from the Sawtooth Pack. I was an active enviromentalist fighting mans distruction of habitat through expanssion and pollution. Things were bleak in the sixties, but mant improvements, due to groups like EDI were acomplished. But lately, some things have taken a backward turn.
One of those subjects has been my beloved wolves. Wildlife can not fight for itself, it needs advocates. Lawyers to fight in court, to keep land out of the hands of those that would distroy nature for profit, and polluters who disregard the laws that have been set to protect the enviroment. As animals and natrual lands go, so goes mankind. Oxygen does not just occour, trees and other plant life create it. The list of benifits is endless. We must keep as much of our earth wild and natural as possible. Protecting, and not distoying top preditors is one necessary step. Groups like EDI are our only hope. As an individual I have no way of protecting wolves. My lone voice in the battle would go completly unheard. But with EDI, and others, who gather us together, can bring responsable parties to court. Or, through a large voice, express public opinion to legistators, things can be changed, corrected, and protected.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
Put growth as a priority. Follow the path they have taken, but maybe focus on one large problem and pour more of its efforts in to solving one problem at a time. Coordinate with othe enviromental groups and don't duplicate, but focus on getting a final solution and move on to another.
