Review for Operation Paws for Homes, N.Chesterfield, VA, USA
We adopted our puppy, Amos through OPH recently. Was referred by a friend on mine who is now one of the volunteers. She had adopted her dog through OPH a year or so ago, and had a very positive experience. We applied for Amos thinking that we didn't really have a chance due to the high amount of applications for him. He is such a cutie!! We went to see him at one of the local events here in Pasadena and met with the foster parents. That evening, we received a call from OPH that our application was approved! The foster mom contacted us to arrange a date/time to bring Amos to our house for a visit. We were very concerned with him getting along with our current dog. The visit went well and we didn't feel any pressure to make a decision right away. Amos still had a few more days before he could be adopted out anyway. Puppies have to be fostered for 2 weeks for health reasons. We picked Amos up and brought him home and he fit right in. He only had 2 accidents in the house and slept through the night in his crate the first night. Needless to say, he has been a GREAT puppy! It was a little bit of an adjustment with our current dog, but after about a month they have developed a friendship. OPH provided all of Amos' medical paperwork and microchip information. They have been very pleasant to deal with and I would highly recommend them to other people looking to rescue. It is very satisfying knowing that Amos has a family to call his own now.
