Review for Operation Paws for Homes, N.Chesterfield, VA, USA
I found out about Operation Paws for Homes through a friend of mine that volunteers for the organization. What I really liked about adopting through them is that the dogs are placed into foster homes. This enables one to question the fosters regarding the dog's personality, training, behaviors, health etc. You really get a good sense of the dog's personality as the dog is not under the stress for example, of being in a kennel type environment.
All the people I dealt with from applying for dog adoption, the approval process and speaking with the foster were kind and pleasant. You can tell they really do care about the dogs and want the best for them.
They have a webpage where you can see what dogs are available for adoption and they readily answered any questions I had. The dogs are up to date on vaccinations and are spayed/neutered if needed.
I adopted Clayton, a retriever/German shepherd mix and he has settled in nicely. I am very happy with my experience! This organization is doing great things by rescuing dogs from high kill shelters.
Highly recommended.
