Review for Honor and Remember, Inc., Chesapeake, VA, USA
My first experience with Honor and Remember was the occasion of the presentation of a personalized Honor and Remember Flag to the Parents of Justin Johnson, Killed in Action (KIA) in Bagdad on April 10.2004) by the Blue Star Mothers of America. It was April of 2009. Patriot Guard Riders (PGR) sponsored a 75 mile back-roads ride from Adairsville, GA to Justin's gravesite in a Rome, Georgia cemetery. This was to be the Ist annual Ride for Justin/Ride for the fallen. My husband and I have missed this ride only once in the past six years. This year money earned by participating in activities, purchase of T-shirts, etc. was donated to the PGR's "Help on the Home-Front", which provides support to military families.
The lady making the presentation in 2009 provided the background of Honor and Remember, explaining how it was conceived, the meaning of each color on the flag, and the fact that the material from which the flags are made (in America - Virginia) is much lighter than the heavy cotton one provided by the U.S. Military at a funeral . Members of the deceased service-member find the heavy cotton extremely difficult to handle, especially when wet from a rainstorm. This light material maintains its color and is easy to keep clean and are more suitable for families to proudly display on a flag at their home. I immediately signed the online petition (to give this flag the same USA recognition as the POW/MIA flag) when I returned home.
I purchased a small flag (11"x15") for my motorcycle several years ago; true to usual instructions, this is NOT intended for extended use at highway speeds. Ha! Ha! My flag goes wherever my motorcycle goes and it has yet to need replacement. I keep Honor and Remember brochures in the tour-pack of my motorcycle and hand them out at rides and other motorcycle and patriotic events and I display a rack with the brochures and "top it off" with petitions to sign and small (4" x 6") "stick flags at my local HOG (Harley Owners' Group) chapter meetings, the Great American Motorcycle Show, and such. I have also placed one of the stick flags along with the American flag into a display honoring/remembering my Dad, a WWII Disabled Veteran. I have purchase other merchandise from the Honor and Remember Website and ALL are quality items. Service is always excellent and personal when I call the headquarters. I highly recommend them to GuideStar users.

Review for Honor and Remember, Inc., Chesapeake, VA, USA
I got "goose-bumps" and found myself unable to hold back the tears when my friends and Patriot Guard Riders (PGR) mentors, "General" Jan Johnson, past-President of Georgia Gold Star Mothers and her husband, Joe, a Navy and Army Veteran, of Lyerly, GA, were presented with the first Honor and Remember Flag I had ever seen . This flag is in honor and remembrance of their youngest son, Army Spc. Justin Johnson, who was killed by a roadside bomb at the age of 22 in Iraq on 10 April 2004.
If you know an American family grieving for a hero who died while serving his/her county, check out the Honor and Remember website. Look at the meaning of the colors and symbols on the flag, read the founder's story, and consider 1) signing the petition to have this flag recognized nationally (like the black and white MIA/POW flag) and 2), that because the large American Flag given to the family at a military funeral is made of heavy cotton which is not suitable for outdoor use, an Honor and Remember flag, which can be personalized, is a perfect gift which can be flown outside in remembrance of their loved one, purchasing an Honor and Remember flag for their family and one for your flag pole as well.
I place both the American and Honor and Remember flags on the "tourpak" of my motorcycle for all Patriot Guard Riders Missions.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
....change NOTHING. When I ordered something incorrectly, I tried to call in time to correct my order to two (2) rather than one (1) of a particular item before my order was shipped. "No problem." was the response. My order came in two days and I was never charged for the 2nd item.
