One of the things I love about LOLA is the spice that LOLA programs bring to the Northwoods of Wisconsin. Some of my favorites are the Halloween Zombie Crawl, International Make Music Day, the summer song series, and the summer fundraiser gala. I know that when I volunteer time or donate money to LOLA, that support will be going to an excellent and deserving organization!

LOLA is amazing, they do a great job of bringing the arts to the Northwoods. I especially appreciate the summer Porch Songs series, Art Impressions Day, Make Music Day, and the Zombie Crawl. After 10 years of being impressed by the work LOLA does, I joined the Board last year and I am humbled by the hard work that both the Board and LOLA staff do. I highly recommend supporting this amazing organization.

The Alzar School provides an education that is truly world-class. The school's ability to blend engaging outdoor activities and cultural experiences with traditional academic requirements is second to none. I highly recommend the Alzar School for high school students who are ready to go beyond the traditional high school experience and step into a community that is extraordinary and life changing.

They make learning fun, exciting, and effective for their students.

It is easy to support the Northwoods Children's Museum once you visit. The smiles on the faces of the children, parents and staff are compelling! The Northwoods of Wisconsin is lucky to have such a wonderful resource for families. If you get a chance to volunteer at the Northwoods Children's Museum - take it! They are well organized and you will have a good time.

The work of the Wilderness Lakes Trails is nothing short of exceptional. The bike & hike path that they are creating and improving is exceptional. From the segment by Forest Lake in Land O' Lakes to the new Agonikak trail connecting Watersmeet to Land O' Lakes the care and planning that has gone into the development of the trails is first rate. Whether you are looking for a short ride with young children or a day-long excursion past some of the best wilderness scenery in the Northwoods you will find what you are looking for on the Wilderness Lakes Trails.

The Land O' Lakes Historical Society does a great job of creating and sharing exhibits that highlight the unique history of this Northwoods community. Each summer there is something new to discover. It is a great rainy day option in this wonderful resort community.

I have had the privilege of supporting and being supported by the Black Oak Lake Preservation Foundation for over ten years. This group of dedicated land owners has given freely of their time and talents to protect the health of Black Oak Lake. If I had to select one word to describe BOLPF it would be "Proactive". Through the lake guard program, annual lake surveys and home owner education they are working diligently to keep Black Oak Lake pristine for future generations to enjoy.

In my role as Head of Conserve School I have had the opportunity to work with the Aldo Leopold Foundation in a number of ways.

One of my favorite was my chance to take a "Land Ethics Leadership" training from the Aldo Leopold Foundation. That training both increased my knowledge of Aldo Leopold and his passion for the land and it greatly enriched my group facilitation skills.

I love the great resources that the Aldo Leopold Foundation has created to broaden its reach. In particular the film "Green Fire" is amazing. I highly recommend it.
