I'm a community member who has participated in LOLA classes and activities for several years now. I just joined the board in order to support this wonderful organization and help ensure it continues to be a vibrant and growing contributor to our small but mighty community. LOLA provides a wide variety of outstanding, high quality creative experiences to community members and to the local school district, free of charge or at a very reasonable cost. Performances, classes, and drop-in activities are all excellent and provided in a warm, cozy, welcoming setting.
I am a thankful user of LOLA's classroom space. I'm a rug hooker, and on Mondays a group of hookers gather--or used to gather before Covid--for companionship and exchange of creative ideas. And then on Fiber Fridays, another group meets and brings their knitting, crocheting, hooking, needlepoint...whatever fiber activity their fingers are busy with and they meet and chat and catch up on what's going on around the area. It's an important hub of activity and networking in our town, because LOLA is a cozy, welcoming spot for the community to gather. There's also Watercolor Wednesdays for those interested in painting, which I'm not, because the paintbrush is not my friend... .
LOLA is a also a natural landing spot for those with a creative bent because of all the wonderful classes it offers ranging from painting to carving to cooking. and it's become an essential element for the town of Land O' Lakes. Their tenant, Artistree Gallery, is great, too. Stop in for a visit in the beautiful north woods of Wisconsin1
One of the things I love about LOLA is the spice that LOLA programs bring to the Northwoods of Wisconsin. Some of my favorites are the Halloween Zombie Crawl, International Make Music Day, the summer song series, and the summer fundraiser gala. I know that when I volunteer time or donate money to LOLA, that support will be going to an excellent and deserving organization!

LOLA is amazing, they do a great job of bringing the arts to the Northwoods. I especially appreciate the summer Porch Songs series, Art Impressions Day, Make Music Day, and the Zombie Crawl. After 10 years of being impressed by the work LOLA does, I joined the Board last year and I am humbled by the hard work that both the Board and LOLA staff do. I highly recommend supporting this amazing organization.
My wife and I had been vacationing in Land O' Lakes for many years. We liked the area so much we bought a permanent home and moved there for good in 2017. One of the really cool aspects of the town is the rich arts environment spearheaded by LOLA. It's rare to find a town this size with this kind of commitment to arts and culture. LOLA punches way above its weight with the stunning array of year-round programming. It's hard to imagine Land O' Lakes without LOLA. LOLA is weaved into the fabric of this community and local residents of all walks of life really appreciate it and support it.
Land O Lakes Arts a/k/a as LOLA is a non-profit dedicated to sharing the arts with the area community members. Bringing vitality to these communities through arts has brought recognition of the importance of Arts in people's lives. Supporting the artists. Art teachers and student in all mediums of arts from dance, music, visual, fiber, writing, theater and on and on. Lola strives to make everyone welcome. As a Board member the notes, letters, and direct conversations has show that LOLA is working with the communities and not just for the communties. LOLA continues to strive to meet the mission statement.
For the last several years, I've watched LOLA build community in the area. Their dedication to inclusion, education, cultural revitalization, and community building is stellar. They've joined with like-minded business people and organizations to literally turn around the economic base of the town. There's life back in Land O' Lakes! I can't wait to move there full time so I can participate in some of LOLA's programs! The arts can, and do, revive people and communities!
