Review for Village Family Services, North Hollywood, CA, USA
I have been a senior administrator in the nonprofit sector for the past 25+ years, and also a volunteer at The Village Family Services for the past three. The staff is beyond gracious, helpful, and truly care about the children and families that come to them for help. No matter what the need, now matter how long it takes, no matter where the family or child is located in Los Angeles County, TVFS stands ready. Their "target population" is low- and ultra-low Latino households dealing with issues of domestic violence, abuse, or neglect. Not the happiest of subjects and yet the staff at TVFS handles each and every case with complete respect, courtesy, and the amazing cultural understanding and competence that they have been known for since the beginning. I cannot say enough about their professionalism and dedication and it is a honor to work with such an outstanding group. Simply put, they care.......and it shows.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
....help them to grow and expand even faster. The population of Los Angeles County continues to develop at a staggering rate, which means that there will no doubt be a steady influx of families and children moving into the area who will desperately need and seek out the programs of The Village Family Services. They are the very best at what they do - seriously, no one else even comes close - and there is no doubt in my mind that future calls to them for help will continue unabated.
