Review for Honor and Remember, Inc., Chesapeake, VA, USA
I've met the founder, George Lutz, several times. He came to CO a couple of years ago to do special flag presentations to a Viet Nam era Gold Star mom who was pretty much house bound caring for her husband. She cried still over the son she lost so many years ago. We also surprised a Colorado Springs mom. I had selected her for George as she'd been treated shabbily at her Army son's funeral and I felt she deserved better. George, Lona and I met with the CO governor, trying to get the flag adopted in a state where there are so many military installations and so many veterans. This past Sept. I was the recipient of one of those special flags with my son's name, rank, date of death at a Gold Star family retreat. I'll cherish is always as I will cherish those memories of my son. I'm so proud to share him with others and the flag is one way we can continue to educate the nation about the huge price the military and their families pay for our freedom. The symbolism of the colors of the flag is amazing. Everyone in the US needs to know about this organization! We parents who have lost children that were proudly serving their country are so afraid that the world will forget them. This organization will make sure that doesn't happen!
