Before I ever went out to Animal Place I had been following them on Facebook. The stories were so heartwarming , seeing these animals coming from such fear and turmoil to such a presumably beautiful sanctuary . I just had to see it for myself! I signed up for the orientation . Along with several other people, I was taken on a guided tour of the sanctuary. I noticed that every single person who worked there knew the animals by name! It was obvious that there was a lot of time spent with the animals and there was great attention spent on ensuring their comfort. The bunnies had their habitat the way rabbits prefer to live. The cow pasture couldn't be any more beautiful! One of the cows named Linus came over to greet the group. He actually licked one of our faces! The pigs were totally sacked out in the softest straw. Even they have us a grunt to say hello. Going in to see the chickens and turkey's was a treat. All these bright inquisitive faces coming to see what we were all about. Priceless.
All in all, Animal Place was such an impressive sanctuary I felt honored to become a volunteer for them. The compassion I see from everyone there, giving the animals their individual respect
And dignity, will keep me supporting Animal Place for a long long time.
