Review for People Making a Difference (PMD), Boston, MA, USA
Wonderful varied volunteer projects designed for the maximum satisfaction of the volunteer! When singles complain they have trouble meeting nice people, I recommend volunteering through PMD! There are ice breakers at the beginning of each project, then you work alongside other people who have given their time to do good, with no pressure to impress anyone. Or keep in contact unless you choose to exchange info. The projects are all for local charities that couldn't function without certain one-day or half-day projects done. It is very satisfying and interesting to sign up for different groups and tasks!

Review for Cradles to Crayons, Newton, MA, USA
I volunteer here, and collect clothes to donate. The volunteer experience is well-organized and fulfilling, the space is cheerful, the volunteer leaders are upbeat and appreciative, and there is time built in to inform volunteers of how many needy children were served by the work we did that shift. It is easy to see that without our donations and time, children in dire need would not have basic clothing needs met. And that that toys, crafts, and books packed with a week's worth of clothing will give them a much-needed lift and feeling of care and nurturing when they most need it.
