Earning a college degree is one of the most important steps towards entering the working world and one of the most important investments that students can make for their future. Yet the cost of this investment is higher today than ever before. As a retired Grayson College Dean, current Grayson College Trustee, and co-chairing the 2015 Grayson College Foundation Scholarship Drive with my wife, gives us the opportunity and joys of working in the Grayson College Foundation at virtually all levels. We see and feel the interest and understanding which manifest itself into financial assistance for many students that absolutely transform their lives into employable workers and productive members of our community. Obtaining scholarship funds for qualified students that could not attend college without the help and understanding of our Grayson College Foundation which is what we do so very well. Grayson College Foundation has a vital roll in meeting the needs of our community. Think about innovation and where it fits in with our goal in dramatically improving our students' success. Our goal is to be able and willing to provide scholarships for any student (young and older) so they can pursue their dream to obtain the needed skills to transfer to a senior college or obtain a new skill to keep their job or to achieve skills that will allow them to get a promotion. We feel honored to have invested in a foundation that will continue to help students achieve their dream of having skills learned in college that will pay high dividends in their career. With this fund, we can lift our students up by giving them the opportunity to respond to the new workforce needs of a real ecomony. It is critical the we give our students the skills required to dramatically improve our students' success in achieving the dream of economic opportunity.
