Review for Opportunity House / VACAVILLE SOLANO SERVICES CORPORATION, Vacaville, CA, USA
For several years now, I've been a volunteer at the Vacaville Opportunity House Thrift Store, located on Peabody Road in Vacaville, CA. This thrift store is amazing in that it has so many clubs, individuals, organizations, churches, youth groups, etc. that give their time and donations to make this a success. The proceeds to to support a homeless shelter in Vacaville. The Festival of Trees was established to also support the Opportunity House. This is one of the best functions at Christmas time. The number of families and individuals that the homeless shelter has helped over the years is very impressive. People have found support in a variety of ways, not just a place to stay. They have received medical aid, housing, transitional housing, help writng resumes, help finding jobs, etc. I have no regrets about choosing the Opportunity House to volunteer, as it's an amazing organization.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
They continue to make improvements to the thrift shop, and new volunteers are always welcome and have ideas on how to change things for the better. The store is more organized and neater than it was when they first moved in. I'd continue to make shopping there easier for the customers by putting like items together in the same place all the time and maybe labeling the sections for convenience to both shoppers and workers.
