Review for Literacy Green Bay Inc, Green Bay, WI, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I first volunteered as a tutor at Literacy Green Bay in 2008, and a couple of years later I took on an additional role doing testing, interviewing, and advising about curriculum placement of new students who were applying for tutors. It has been a most interesting and enriching experience to be able to meet and learn about the applicants who come from a great diversity of cultures, language backgrounds, and life experiences. Most of these people are immigrants or refugees, but a smaller number are native-born Americans who for whatever reason never developed good reading and writing skills. Invariably, they are all so appreciative and grateful for the services offered at Literacy Green Bay. The various programs offered, including one-on-one tutoring, classes, citizenship preparation, and a computer lab, make it possible to find the best option for each student. Literacy Green Bay is an invaluable asset to our Green Bay community.

Review for Literacy Green Bay Inc, Green Bay, WI, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I've been volunteering at Literacy Green Bay since 2008. It's a great organization that has helped thousands of people improve their language skills, self-confidence, and other skills needed for employment and more opportunities. I get a lot of enjoyment and satisfaction from working with immigrant adults who are always so highly motivated and appreciative of the help they receive.
