Review for Innovation: Africa (iA), New York, NY, USA

Rating: 5 stars

Just having attended the fundraising events for this organization, I have a strong sense of the incredible women that run it and more importantly of the amazing work that they do. Their events are classy, pristine, well planned and fun to attend. At both events they had a program which featured smart and informative African diplomats as speakers, as well as dance and music programs by African dance troupes and drum circles. These programs were not only entertaining, but educational in terms of bringing me closer to the culture to which I am donating. At the last JHA event, there was also an exhibit featuring African art which was exquisite and also added to my education about the people I am helping by donating to this cause. The most clever and most innovative feature of their last gala was the "light up africa" wall, which was a wall size map of Africa, sectioned off, each section containing a lightbulb. Making a donation would light one of these bulbs and throughout the evening, as people donated, you could really visualize just how many villages and communities we were helping by giving to JHA. The work that this organization does is truly G-d's work, and we should all be so lucky to come in contact with the selfless and kind hearted people who run it. Thank you JHA for caring enough to light up Africa and make their world better.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

seeing the videos of African children thanking JHA for lighting their village, more specifically Sivan and Rachel for all they have given them, it is truly heart warming .. they have lighted entire villages, health clinics, schools.. helped communities

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

seeing how my donation helped entire communities of people just live their daily lives, things that i take for granted in mine.. it helps put things in perspective for me.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

all incredible people; selfless, warm, kindhearted people that i would be lucky to have as my friends.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

probably light up the whole continent of africa helping millions of people.

How frequently have you been involved with the organization?

About every six months
