Review for Junior State of America, Oakland, CA, USA
The Junior State of America is a nonpartisan organization that promotes civic engagement and political, civil discourse. As the largest student-run organization in the nation, the Junior State of America has always been by high school students for high school students, and provided the unique opportunity for generations of students to express their opinions and talk about issues. The Junior Statesmen Foundation makes this possible, and the people that work there work all throughout the year and strive to provide the best events, conventions, and platforms of discussion for youth like me.
As a senior in high school, being a Junior Stateswoman for the past 4 years has changed my life and my outlook on the world for the better. The experience of being in the Junior State of America is something I'd never trade for anything, and I don't think I would've gotten that life-changing experience had it not been for the Junior Statesmen Foundation. This is by far one of the most rewarding nonprofits in the country, as an investment in the Junior State is an investment in America's future.
