I can't say enough good things about the AWLMC. When I first started volunteering, I was impressed by the volunteer handbook and the policies and procedures in place as well as the spotless shelter and friendly volunteers. I've since had the pleasure of working with the amazing team of volunteers who are all there for one reason--the cats. The team approach encourages the sharing of information and ideas, and those who want to get more involved don't have to wait years to do so. The selection of cats available for adoption is always top-notch.

I signed up to volunteer after my first visit to the AWLMC. The shelter is homey, clean and bright. All of the cats seem happy to be there, and so do the volunteers. I'm thrilled to have found a no-kill shelter where I can interact with the cats, knowing that the only reason they'll be leaving is for their forever home. It is a well-run, happy place filled with caring people.
