Review for Knights of Heroes Foundation - Rocky Mountain Ascent, Colorado Springs, CO, USA

Rating: 5 stars

This was my 7th year serving as a Mentor to the teenage girls. It is always one of my favorite weeks of the year. Returning to see the girls one year older and reconnecting with them is so rewarding. And, then to see them year after year until they graduate is a special thing. Each year they mature just that much more and try new and tougher challenges and it is great to see. KOH offers an amazing experience to push and empower the girls.

This was year 5 of volunteering and serving as a mentor and again loved it so much. It really is one of my favorite weeks because it is such a great thrill to see the campers return year after the year and see the growth and maturity of each one. It's great to learn how they applied lessons and set and achieved goals during their school year, or learn how their year was and what challenges they faced and overcame. Really great to see their enthusiasm for reconnecting with their friends and other mentors who love them unconditionally.

Knights of Heroes continues to wow me! It's always such a tiring week, but also hugely uplifting, and I always look forward to it each year. This was my 4th year serving as Mentor and each year the experience becomes more rewarding because of the connections we can make with returning campers who are growing up. There is a lot of value in consistent service and that consistency breeds trust which really benefits the kids. And, they are amazing! What a resilient, positive and involved group of kids.

Knights of Heroes is great! The camp is such a great opportunity for the kids to connect with their friends with whom they share a common bond, or make new friends. They experience great adventure activities and learn character-building and leadership skills in a supportive and fun environment. The kids are amazing! It's so rewarding to see them grow up before our very eyes, to become positive and motivated individuals ready to tackle the world. As a mentor, it has been my pleasure to serve and be with the kids for 3 seasons. With consistent support and a commitment to their wellbeing, the mentors can really earn the kids' trust... which happens over time. Once that point is reached, it's so worthwhile to be the one they turn to when they need an answer or some advice. Looking forward to serving Knights of Heroes for years to come!

Knights of Heroes if a fabulous program! It is founded by a strong value system that permeates throughout the whole week of camp and that is one of the main reasons the camp is so worthwhile for the campers and also for the mentors. The kids are terrific and really have a great opportunity to reconnect with old friends and make new friends. Everyone has a common bond that becomes very solid throughout the week. The camp's mission and the focus on positive behaviors and challenging activities and a faith-filled lifestyle and of course, the resiliency in the kids, are really why it was such a pleasure for me to serve for a second summer. I will return to KOH for as long as I can!
