Review for King Street Cats, Alexandria, VA, USA
King Street Cats in Alexandria, VA is an entirely (top-to-bottom) volunteer-run no-kill shelter for felines. It receives no government funding, relying entirely on private donations to rescue, feed, protect, medically treat, and find homes for potentially hundreds of cats and kittens each year. This truly grassroots endeavor has attracted an amazing network of volunteers to foster cats, serve as feeders and cleaners, adoption counselors, mobile ambassadors, cat-to-vet transporters, fundraisers, public relations and more. I donate time to the shelter as often as I can and it's a wonderful experience, teaching me a great deal about cats while giving me the chance to meet terrific people (volunteers, foster parents and adopters) and giving me much pride and joy. The folks who run the shelter are absolutely heroic and they and the cats bring out the best in we who work to help the cats we love and who love us in return. I encourage all who know about KSC to support it and please, spay and neuter your cats!
